ABOUT
ME
I
majored in both English Literature
and English to Spanish Translation
at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, where I also pursued
nine out of the ten semesters needed to become an English high-school
teacher.
After having successfully
completed my internship at a private psychiatric
clinic with flying colors, I worked as in-house translator
at an online business news service provider, which enabled me to grasp
the basics of Economics, Banking and Insurance
terminology. Though interesting, I soon discovered that I didn't wish
to work exclusively on these translation areas, so I left the company
after a year and set out to specialize in two other fields that have
fascinated me for as long as I can remember: Medicine
and Pharmaceuticals.
I have been translating
on a freelance basis for different pharmaceutical
companies (both local and international), healthcare
providers, NGOs and translation
agencies in these fields ever since, and have built
a solid base of satisfied clients who can attest to my professional
quality.
I have also been an active
member of the American
Translators Association since 2008; and member of the International
Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters, IAPTI,
since its birth in September 2009.
Please do not hesitate
to contact me if you have
any questions or need further information regarding my professional
services.
